Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross is one of the simplest, yet powerful, ways to prayerfully walk alongside Jesus and encounter him like never before.

I recently had a conversation with the Walking with Purpose Bible Study group that meets Saturday morning. I asked them what does the Stations mean to them, Why This Devotion Matters? This is what they shared.

  • It Brings You Face-to-Face with Christ’s Sacrifice.

  • It brings me great sorrow for Jesus and Mary.

  • Puts you there at the foot of the cross; imagining you’re there with Mary and the other women.

  • It Deepens Your Love for the Cross

  • Praying the Stations helps you see your own suffering in light of His. Giving it meaning and purpose.

  • Feeling guilty because we nailed him to the cross to rescue me.

  • I am HERE for you.

  • My Sorrow brings HIM comfort.

  • Ritual brings us comfort. Reflective and Powerful.

  • It Shapes Your Heart for a Mission; The more you walk with Christ to Calvary, the more your heart is ready to pour itself out for others in everyday life.
